Golf is Cool

Reading my first issue of Golf Digest (yeah for expiring airline miles....or should I say: yeah for Romania!) this weekend, and they had an interesting article about a specific golf ruling. Or rather, rulings.

Say, for instance, you hit it into a crowd of spectators. Say you hit a spectator. Then, let's assume this spectator falls on top of your ball. The article explained that there are different rulings depending on whether the spectator is actually alive or dead.

Are you kidding me?!?

Do the rules distinguish between a dead spectator that the ball hit and a spectator that just happened to die at that moment of golf-ball-unrelated causes? :)

I don't think they distinquish...I'm not even sure if they care if the golf ball killed the spectator. They just care if the death then affects the swing of the golfer. :)

I see - if the spectator is already dead, then the golf officials can't be held liable for any injuries sustained by the next swing. :)

I guess if the spectator is seriously injured from your swing, you also must pay the medical bills. But if the spectator dies.........Good swing!
