Sex take two

Same class, different student (apparently has not been a part of any of the conversations had in that class so far).

"What, you're a virgin?!?"

"Yes..."

"Why?!?"

*Shawn thinking to himself: cha-ching!*

Yeah for 15 second blurbs about God! And, let's face it, we're talking about sex--the whole class was paying attention. So, for a few brief seconds, I got to talk about God, marriage, sex, and how I feel they all fit together. Blatant, uncensored, and completely not forced.

The person seemed to think it was "sweet" and "cute," but what about the other 19 people in the class? May God use me in that classroom, and let me not overstep my authority in Christ and as a teacher in these coming days, months, (years?)...

Who the heck wants to marry you?!?! This is news to me!! lol Ne dis pas que ce n'est pas toi, Carolyn?! Nicknames, please! :P

I'm glad you're comfortable talking about this stuff. I'm sure it's a shock to them, especialy w/ so many adults altogether avoiding the subject! lol While I have no trouble in small groups or w/ individuals, it's not something I usually talk about in front of large groups or classes of students (but, of course, maybe that's just b/c I'm a woman and these rules just don't work the same way...) *sigh* We really do have a long way to go in understanding our own sexuality, don't we? So sad.

If it's any consolation, bum, I don't want to marry you, either. :)

Keep up the good work... who knows, you might reach some of your students yet.

Thank you one and all for the non-proposals. I don't want to marry any of you, either. :) Oh, and Christine, habla en ingles, por favor, no hablo francais.

Je parle francais aussi, mais je n'ecrite pas bien. Oh la la! I Think it's great that a teacher is so open and willing to give advice like that. It makes teens see that some of us are not the only ones who still have the greatest gift to give!

Hey Shawn!

The Carmel Swing kids miss you! If you're not doing anything on Sunday, there is a surprise birthday party for Avery. It's from 4-7pm, and if you want to go, talk to Ms. Baird for more info. (I don't want to put where we're going to be on here for the world to see) We'd all love to see you again and do some serious dancing!!! Isa will be ready with ice cubes!!

You should also meet some of the new freshman. Can you believe it?? We have a multigrade level club this year! It's so exciting!

I forgot to add, the party is swing dance themed. Hope you can make it!

I will talk to Ms. Baird about it for sure...

As for "you know you know me," I thought it was you, but wasn't going to jump to conclusions, seeing as your good friends with my girlfriend and all. Maybe "sisters" really *do* share everything...

Ok, so two anonymous people just aren't fair...

1st: "first anonymous" is just cheating. No fair.

2nd: I still don't know who left the first comment proposing to Shawn.

3rd: Well, I wrote in French b/c I was hoping Carolyn could read it, and I didn't want you to, Shawn! ;P J'écrirai en anglais maintenant, ne t'enquiète pas! (=Escribo en ingles ahora, no te preocupes!)

Petite Americaine, how do you type in accents? I have never been able to figure that out.

My comment should have been directed to the first anonymous--the one who actually proposed. She's supposed to come visit me for cheesecake, actually, and hopefully she'll bring Carolyn. :)

Is my blog now a forum for typing online or something?

E-mail me- I'll tell ya! ;) We'll leave Shawn alone since he doesn't like us typing on his blog! lol

That's my tentative plan. KTB and I have church from 2:30 until 5 or so in Yorktown, but we'll see about leaving sometime after there. I need to get a hold of her to see for sure....
