Why are we doing this time change thing again?

So, Saturday night/Sunday morning, Shawn loses 1 hour of sleep. Shawn is not happy about this. Daylight Savings is stupid 364 days of the year...

Anyway, it's absolutely gorgeous out today, so I did what any reasonable person would do--I went home. I still spend 90 minutes reading, but I did it outside and *gasp* , which was wonderful, although I hope I didn't burn myself. I was a rather nice shade of white to begin the day. Hopefully my officemate who lives nearby will get home soon so we can play some catch. Other than golf, there really isn't a better activity on a day like today, is there?

That's kind of cool

So, while "writing" my paper this afternoon/evening, I had some fun and looked myself up on altavista.com. As it turns out, I am apparently pretty popular. Some of the sites I'm mentioned in I have included below because I thought they were cool.

I especially like it when my paper is listed as a suggested reading. :)

Jumping out of the windows

At the risk of upsetting my good (unemployed) friend and her lack of success in job searching, I seem to have jobs jumping out of the window at me (does that analogy even make sense?). First of all, there's the aforementioned job at Glenn which has officially been posted as being open. Secondly, there is an opening at Mississinewa (Gas City) for a math teacher. Now, I mention this job because Mr. Fleming, my HS calc teacher, is currently the head computer guy for the corporation. After contacting him, I find out that apparently he has a lot of pull in the hiring process, and seemed to be excited about the prospect of me going to Ole Miss. So, once again we're back to the question of: where does God seem to be leading me?

Grasping defeat from the jaws of victory

Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration. Our co-ed team made it to the semi-finals of the tournament...before losing. One game from Assembly Hall... :( The game wasn't particularly close, though, as I was probably the only guy to play very well.

For added excitement, I followed the game up by going to church, finishing my paper, eating dinner, recording midterm scores, curving the first test, computing midterm grades, finishing the classificatino paperwork for swing club, revising my paper, printing out my paper, and going to bed at 1:30 in the morning. Just in time to wake up for class this morning and turn in said paper. But, I am getting much closer to being completely caught up--won't that be nice.

Dream job?

So, does Shawn have a dream job in the works? According to my father, who talked with the president of the school board of my old corporation (can a school corporation be referred to as your alma mater?), there is a really good chance there will be a math opening in high school at Glenn next year. Given what I know of the teachers, there is a decent chance this will be in high level classes. Also, there's a good chance there will be some open basketball coaching vacancies as well. Teaching high level math at a school I am comfortable with (and whose faculty I am comfortable with) while getting to coach basketball....that's my dream job, isn't it?

Well, as always, there are issues. From a spiritual perspective, I have very strong connections with people in Bloomington and the home church I attend in Yorktown. If I move back up north, I may not continue in those realms (for sure the former, possibly the latter). God is playing a really big part in my life right now. But, maybe He's calling me to bring my experiences and energy up north...possibly to the church I grew up in.

Oh, the decisions. Of course, right now, it's all hypothetical. It'll be interesting to see where God is taking me...
